What a fantastic course. The studio has an amazing atmosphere and Jack's patience and teaching were above and beyond. The class was small enabling us all to have one to one tuition when needed and I was thrilled with my finished pieces. The only downside was that the weeks went by too quickly. I looked forward to each lesson and would highly recommend it.

Jack made us feel really welcome and put us at ease straightaway. He Is very engaging and clearly loves what he does which shone through in the guidance (and patience!) he gave us in the making of 3 pots each. All turned out much better than expected with only small interventions from Jack when needed. We can’t recommend Jack highly enough. The afternoon was fun and rewarding and provides a real escape from the rigours of life.

Thankyou for a brilliant course. Jack is a fantastic teacher, I learnt so much during the 2 days and I made some pretty decent mugs and bowls for a beginner. The studio was ideal and we had a really nice lunch each day as well. It was definitely the best short course I have done and would recommend to all.

I have recently completed an 8 week throwing course at Loam, I absolutely loved it. Jack is a great (and patient) tutor, I've learnt so much in a short space of time in a beautiful setting and met some lovely people. Thoroughly recommend giving it a go.

I would definitely recommend booking a pottery course here! I did a 2.5 hour throwing taster lesson and really enjoyed it. A great relaxed atmosphere in a bright airy studio. Jack was a patient, adept teacher and the small class size was perfect to make sure you were on track. I was happy with my cups and look forward to visiting again.

My partner and I did the 2.5 hour throwing taster session after it was recommended by a friend. After completing the session, I immediately wanted to book in for another class. Jack was a very friendly and patient teacher. From teaching us the fundamentals of throwing to how to correct any mistakes made. He was incredibly supportive and very personable. I was unsure on how much I would enjoy pottery as it was completely new to me, but after the first cup was made I was immediately hooked and this is a huge compliment to jack and his teaching style. Casual conversations whilst going through each step made for an easygoing and relaxing experience. We can’t wait to go back and make a variety of pottery!

I absolutely loved this course. Jack is a wonderful teacher. He is an incredibly patient and conscientious tutor. I look forward all week to getting behind the wheel. Its a very therapeutic thing to do. I encourage anyone who wants to give a go, just try it. You will fall in love with it like I did.

Attended the intro to throwing session last year and had the best time! Jack is a great teacher, explains all the techniques in an approachable way and is very patient and friendly. A very relaxing way to spend 2.5hrs and we were all really pleased with the results. Look forward to booking onto another session soon!

I'm now half way through my 3rd 8 week course, and I'm loving it. I can't wait to get back to the studio each week. It's amazing how quickly you pick up the skills and before you know it you've got a new set of mugs. The studio is in an amazing location, and Jack is a wonderful teacher. Very Patient and often teaching at numerous levels depending on the students within the class - very impressive! I would recommend to anyone to give it a go.

I was booked into a Taster course with Jack as a birthday present back in 2019. I wasn't able to use my voucher at all in 2020 due to lockdowns but Jack was really accommodating and made sure we had a session booked in even though my voucher had expired. I had such a great afternoon with Jack! He was extremely welcoming and made the session really enjoyable for my first ever pottery throw. He gave clear guidance throughout the whole session. The studios are beautiful and I fully recommend anyone wanting to pottery throw to book in with Jack and Loam. A 5* experience!

I attended the 5 day throwing course with Jack in August 2020. I can't recommend it highly enough. Jack is a very patient and approachable teacher. His style is supportive, creative and expert and the setting is wonderful. The group was extremely friendly and supportive and provided plenty of space for group and 1 to 1 support. Within a week I had produced a range of cups, plates and vases; not bad for a first time! I'm now hooked and ready to progress with confidence and enthusiasm.

Myself and another came to Jack for a 2.5 hour taster session as we had wanted to try pottery throwing for a while and I could not recommend the experience enough!
Jack is a very attentative and friendly teacher and really helps you understand how your actions shape the clay and how to correct any mistakes you might make without ever being condescending or making you feel like a rookie! We both had an object in mind we wanted to make and Jack was more than happy to accomodate and steer our lesson towards this.
The location is fantastic, the value for money is incredible and we're already itching to go back for another session!
